Dahang Yueqian has successfully completed the design, production, and testing of the valve system for its self-developed 150-ton liquid oxygen-methane engine, Qingyu-11. The testing covered a full range of operational conditions, including cryogenic media, high-pressure sealing, and vibration environments, ensuring the engine's core components are now independently controlled.
The valve suite includes control, purge, ignition, and startup solenoid valves, as well as main and auxiliary methane and oxygen valves, and high-pressure check valves. These components support the entire engine cycle, from pre-cooling and ignition to shutdown and purging. Previous tests for the Qingyu-11 engine already validated torch ignition and component-level performance.
The Qingyu-11 engine is designed for at least 50 reuses and features a thrust-to-weight ratio greater than 150. With the successful completion of these core component tests, the company is now preparing for full-system integrated engine testing. The engine is a key component for the company's future launch vehicle projects.
Founded in February 2024, Dahang Yueqian focuses on large-scale reusable launch vehicles. Its primary project, the Yueqian-1 rocket, utilizes a tower-based recovery system, eliminating the need for landing legs to reduce weight and improve payload capacity. The company aims to conduct the first flight of the Yueqian-1 rocket in 2027.
