Chinese semiconductor manufacturer CXMT has reached a 9.5% share of the global DRAM market in monetary terms, securing the fourth position. According to data from Quick FactSet and quarterly reports, the company surpassed major competitors in profitability during the second quarter of 2026.
The company's EBIT margin reached 82% in the second quarter. This figure exceeds the results of SK hynix, which reported 76%, and Samsung Electronics, which reached 70%. While CXMT's absolute profit remains lower than that of its South Korean and American rivals, its operational efficiency currently leads the industry.
The production of DDR5 memory, which is in high demand for data centers, significantly contributes to the company's financial performance. The pricing structure for DDR5 allows for adjustments based on market fluctuations, providing higher margins compared to HBM, which is typically supplied under long-term fixed-price contracts.
Following its recent IPO, CXMT has become the largest issuer on the Chinese stock market. Its market capitalization is approximately three times higher than that of the Japanese company Kioxia. The manufacturer intends to allocate the funds raised during the public offering primarily toward expanding its production capacity.
