An enthusiast known as TrashBench constructed a custom liquid cooling system using a 4-kW radiator salvaged from an air conditioner. The setup includes a pump, a reservoir, and 3D-printed mounting brackets for cold plates, all mounted on a mobile frame with casters.
Testing involved an Nvidia RTX 5060 and an RTX 3080. The RTX 5060 temperature dropped from 52ºC to 33ºC with the new cooler. Overclocking the card from 2902 MHz to 3300 MHz resulted in a 14% clock speed increase but only a 3% gain in average FPS.
The RTX 3080 saw a temperature reduction from 65ºC to 28ºC. When testing a combined load with an Intel Core i9 14900K processor, the CPU temperature reached 76ºC, which is an 18ºC improvement. The GPU temperature remained stable during the combined stress test.
