Crypto platforms are increasingly adopting a super-app model to increase user retention. By integrating services like payments, borrowing, and yield products alongside trading, platforms aim to encourage daily engagement similar to traditional banking apps.
Martin Masser, director of strategic partnerships at ChangeNOW, notes that users have diverse needs, ranging from active trading to simple balance checks. Features like AML wallet checks and cross-chain token swaps are being integrated to address specific user pain points and reduce the need for multiple applications.
Design remains a critical challenge for these platforms. Masser emphasizes that adding features must be logical and intuitive to avoid cluttering the interface. He warns that simply having access to a large audience, such as through Telegram, does not guarantee product success without targeted marketing and clear value propositions.
Partnerships are also evolving, with ChangeNOW offering an API that allows developers to integrate swap and payment services into their own products. This approach enables platforms to launch with basic functionality and expand services over time based on user demand.
Stablecoins are playing a significant role in this shift. Reports indicate that stablecoin payments reached at least $401 billion in the first eight months of 2026, a 42% increase year-over-year. Businesses accounted for 58% to 64% of this volume, signaling a growing trend toward routine financial use.
