CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz expressed disagreement with the proposal from Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei to slow down the development of frontier AI. Kurtz argued that open-source models and advanced AI technologies are already widely distributed, making any attempt to freeze their progress ineffective against cybersecurity threats.

During an interview with CNBC, Kurtz stated that the Pandora's box of AI development has already been opened. He emphasized that instead of halting innovation, companies should focus on implementing collaborative security measures, such as the 'Glass Wings' framework proposed by Anthropic.

Kurtz highlighted the necessity for robust defense mechanisms following recent AI-related attacks on Hugging Face. He suggested that organizations must monitor AI behavior in real-time and establish protective guardrails to prevent systems from executing harmful actions.

The executive also warned that overly strict government regulations on AI could cause the United States to lose its competitive edge. He believes that while AI agents present significant security risks, a balanced approach to safety is more effective than slowing down technological advancement.
