Criminal groups are increasingly using digital methods to hijack shipments of high-value data center equipment. Since the beginning of June, the total losses from these thefts have exceeded $100 million.

The attackers compromise transport broker accounts on logistics platforms to post fake requests. They use malicious links to install software on victims' devices, gaining control over accounts to bid on legitimate transport contracts.

The stolen goods, including servers, memory modules, and mining hardware, are often sold on gray markets. In some instances, buyers are identified abroad, such as in China, before the theft occurs.

Criminals employ sophisticated tactics, including GPS spoofing and AI-generated fake driver licenses. In two major incidents involving losses of $13 million and $10 million, security vehicles were targeted in staged collisions to allow the cargo trucks to escape.
