US Federal Judge Mark Pittman has ordered Elon Musk’s companies, X and SpaceXAI, to disclose details regarding the withdrawal of their antitrust lawsuit against Apple. The court demands the submission of any agreements or settlements reached between the parties that led to the dismissal of these claims.
The legal action, initiated last year, originally accused Apple and OpenAI of colluding to limit the visibility of competing AI applications on the App Store. The plaintiffs alleged that this was a result of the partnership integrating ChatGPT into Siri and Apple Intelligence. Both Apple and OpenAI have denied these allegations.
While X and SpaceXAI voluntarily dropped their claims against Apple, they confirmed that the litigation against OpenAI remains active. OpenAI filed an emergency motion requesting the court to compel the disclosure of the settlement terms, leading to Judge Pittman’s order for the companies to respond by noon on September 17.
