Corsair has introduced the updated RM1200e power supply unit, which features a power output of 1200 W. The device is designed to address overheating and melting issues associated with 12V-2x6 connectors, particularly when used with high-end graphics cards like the GeForce RTX 5090.
The new PinProtect technology monitors the current on each of the six 12-volt pins in real time. If the current exceeds a safe threshold for a specific duration, the unit automatically reduces power delivery and shuts down the GPU to prevent physical damage to the connector.
The RM1200e holds a Cybenetics Platinum certification with an efficiency rating of up to 91%. It complies with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards and utilizes Japanese capacitors rated for 105 degrees Celsius. The unit is available in black and white color options.
The power supply features a compact design with a depth of 150 mm, making it suitable for smaller chassis configurations. Corsair has priced the unit at $204 and provides a ten-year warranty for the product.
