Corporate Bitcoin acquisitions may increase in late 2026 and 2027, provided the cryptocurrency price rallies. Analysts note that investors are becoming more selective, prioritizing companies with strong balance sheets and established track records over indiscriminate capital raising.

Data from Bitwise indicates a significant slowdown in corporate buying during Q3. Strategy increased its holdings by 1,666 BTC, compared to 83,901 BTC in Q2. Other public firms added 5,617 BTC in Q3, down from 45,725 BTC in the previous quarter.

The decline in treasury activity is linked to the disappearance of share premiums that previously allowed companies to fund Bitcoin purchases without diluting shareholders. Approximately 12 companies that entered the market in 2025 sold their entire holdings to repay debt.

Market experts suggest that future demand will likely shift toward established players. While corporate buying remains a factor, the market is also influenced by spot Bitcoin ETFs, which saw $6.4 billion in net inflows during Q3 but experienced $229 million in outflows last week.
