London-based startup Cori Clinical has secured $4 million in a seed funding round led by Breega. Other participants included Enzo Ventures, Heartfelt, Together Ventures, and Bynd. The company plans to use these funds to expand its engineering and commercial teams and enhance the regulatory and clinical intelligence capabilities of its platform.

Founded in December 2024 by Jorn Jansen Schoonhoven and Patricio Fernandez, the startup provides an AI-powered workspace designed to consolidate clinical trial data. The platform integrates internal organizational knowledge with external regulatory guidance from agencies such as the FDA, MHRA, and EMA to assist in drafting trial protocols and operational plans.

The company aims to address the issue of protocol amendments, which occur in 76% of clinical trials. According to Tufts CSDD data, the median cost of a substantial amendment is $141,000 for Phase II and $535,000 for Phase III. Cori Clinical estimates its software can reduce trial set-up costs by at least 33% by identifying avoidable errors.

Cori Clinical currently reports working with two of the top five global contract research organizations and Erasmus MC. The platform is designed for sponsors and CROs to streamline trial design. The founders bring experience from companies including Amazon, IBM, Sanofi, and AstraZeneca.
