Commerce Bancshares reported a rise in net income for the quarter, supported by a 7% annualized growth in loan balances. The company highlighted strong performance across its commercial and wealth management segments, alongside consistent credit quality.

The bank expanded its investment banking capabilities by acquiring the St. Louis-based firm Nolan & Associates on October 1. This move aims to broaden the range of strategic and financial advisory services offered to middle-market clients throughout the United States.

This acquisition follows the integration of FineMark Holdings, completed on January 1. As a result of the FineMark merger, Commerce Bancshares became the 15th largest bank-managed trust company by assets under management and expanded its private banking footprint.

The company plans to finalize the FineMark systems conversion in February 2027 to ensure thorough testing. Despite the timeline, management confirmed that its financial expectations and synergy targets remain unchanged.

While Commerce Bancshares operates primarily in five Midwestern states, its reach extends further. The firm currently maintains seven wealth management offices and seven commercial offices across several states outside its core regional footprint.
