Column N.A., a US-chartered bank founded by William and Annie Hockey, announced on September 16, 2026, the integration of USDC and USDT support into its core banking platform. The bank now provides full-stack card issuing for debit, credit, and prepaid products, alongside multicurrency accounts with access to global networks like SEPA Instant.
The platform enables fintech clients to exchange stablecoins and traditional currencies across payment rails including ACH, FedNow, RTP, Fedwire, and SWIFT. By operating as a chartered bank, Column manages its own ledger and processor, eliminating the need for third-party intermediaries and prefunding requirements in stablecoin-to-fiat conversions.
The bank reported an annualized stablecoin transaction volume in the tens of billions shortly after the launch. This infrastructure competes with middleware providers like Marqeta, which recently partnered with BVNK to enhance its stablecoin capabilities, and Mastercard, which acquired BVNK in August 2026.
Unlike most fintech infrastructure firms, Column remains founder and employee-owned without external venture capital. The bank positions its vertically integrated model as a way to reduce complexity and costs for fintechs by consolidating banking, card issuing, and stablecoin settlement under a single regulatory framework.
