Coinbase has reached a market capitalization of $21.6 million for its tokenized U.S. stocks issued on the Base network. This milestone highlights the growing integration of traditional financial assets into the decentralized finance sector.
These tokenized assets are now utilized as collateral within the Aave Equities Hub on Base. This functionality expands the utility of the stocks beyond simple asset holding, allowing them to serve as active components in DeFi protocols.
Market interest in the Base ecosystem is also reflected in prediction markets regarding a potential native token launch. The probability of a Base token issuance by December 31, 2026, is currently priced at 8.5 percent, rising from 7 percent the previous day.
Future developments, including potential partnerships with DeFi platforms and statements from Coinbase executives like Brian Armstrong, remain key factors to watch. These events could further influence market expectations and the broader adoption of tokenized instruments.
