Coinbase has reported a significant expansion in its tokenized stock offerings on the Base blockchain. According to CEO Brian Armstrong, the number of asset holders reached 46,700, representing a 97-fold increase over a 30-day period.
These tokenized stocks function as onchain representations of U.S. company shares. They are issued under Regulation S and are not available to U.S. persons, with the underlying assets maintained in regulated custody.
Trading activity on the platform has been substantial, with decentralized exchange volume for these assets reaching approximately $227.7 million shortly after launch. Recent data indicates that total volume generated by these stocks reached $1.5 billion over the last 30 days, marking a 313% increase compared to the previous period.
Market participants are monitoring these developments for potential signals regarding a future Base token launch. Current prediction markets estimate the probability of such a launch by December 31, 2026, at approximately 7.5%.
