Clay CEO Kareem Amin will discuss the emergence of the GTM engineer role at the TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 conference. The event is scheduled for October 13–15 at Moscone West in San Francisco, featuring over 200 sessions and expecting more than 10,000 attendees.

The GTM engineer role was coined by Clay in 2023. These specialists build automated revenue workflows using AI and data instead of manual tasks. Currently, about 100 job listings for this position appear monthly, with companies like Webflow, Cursor, and Lovable actively hiring.

Clay, founded in 2017, provides infrastructure for data access and agentic workflows. Its AI-powered agent, Claygent, automates research and outreach. The company reported $100 million in annual recurring revenue in February and raised a $115 million Series D in September.

The company reached a valuation of $7.1 billion following its latest funding round. Additionally, Clay announced a $1 million scholarship fund in September aimed at training GTM engineers to support the growth of this professional category.
