At the .conf26 event in Denver, Cisco and its Splunk unit introduced a focus on trust as a core requirement for agentic enterprises. Cisco President Jeetu Patel noted that agents now consume five times more tokens than humans, with roughly 60% of global AI compute capacity dedicated to inference.
Splunk launched Splunk Agent Observability, which includes a Tokenomics feature for tracking and forecasting spending. The company also announced that it is increasing data capacity tenfold while keeping billing flat to help customers manage telemetry costs.
The company is integrating Splunk Observability and Enterprise Security, allowing users to join datasets by the end of the year. Additionally, the Cisco Data Fabric will support Federated Search for Amazon Web Services CloudWatch and Databricks, with FedRAMP coverage expected in January 2027.
Cisco introduced the Cisco AI POD for Splunk, which supports self-hosted models such as Google Gemma 4 and OpenAI GPT-OSS 20B. The platform also features new remediation agents built with Anthropic to assist in detection, investigation, and response tasks.
