Empyrean Technology chairman Liu Weiping stated at the 26th China International Industry Fair that the domestic EDA tool coverage rate has increased to 85 percent. Previously, this figure was below 30 percent.
Despite the progress, the industry still lacks full supply chain support capabilities. Some tools require further performance improvements to reach competitive standards, although certain point tools have already achieved international advanced levels.
In specific segments, the localization rate for EDA tools in flat panel displays, storage, and wafer manufacturing has surpassed 50 percent. The domestic EDA ecosystem platform currently covers 50 percent of major process nodes.
The company expects the coverage rate for major process nodes to reach 80 percent by the end of this year. EDA software remains essential for the design, verification, and layout of large-scale integrated circuits.
