The State Administration for Market Regulation and the National Standards Committee of China have initiated the development of a series of national standards for quantum core components. This initiative aims to establish technical benchmarks for the research, design, and manufacturing of quantum technology products.
Two new national standards have been officially released: the technical specifications for quantum squeezed light sources and performance testing methods for periodically poled lithium niobate quantum frequency conversion devices. Additionally, four new projects have been launched, covering continuous variable optical quantum entanglement sources, diamond nitrogen-vacancy center materials for power measurement, and solid-state spin quantum magnetometer characterization.
Several other standards are currently under development, including those for two-photon polarization entanglement sources and high-reflectivity optical thin films. These standards aim to unify key metrics such as output power, purity, and beam quality, providing a standardized framework for the entire quantum industry supply chain.
The government intends to continue accelerating the development of these standards to ensure the reliability and security of the domestic quantum supply chain. This effort is part of a broader national strategy to foster a sustainable and autonomous industrial ecosystem for quantum technologies.
