The new national standard, titled Technical Specifications for Data Processing Unit Applications in Intelligent Computing Clusters, has been officially released and implemented in China. This document serves as the first national standard specifically targeting DPU technology in the country.

Led by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, the standard establishes unified technical requirements for DPU development, deployment, and management within servers and intelligent computing clusters. It provides a common framework for product selection and testing.

The initiative aims to address industry challenges such as heterogeneous vendor solutions, difficulties in benchmarking performance, and a lack of system compatibility. By creating these unified specifications, the standard seeks to move the industry toward collaborative development and ecosystem building.

Several major technology companies and telecommunications providers participated in drafting the document. The list of contributors includes China Mobile Cloud, China Telecom, China Unicom Software Research Institute, ZTE, Inspur, JD Technology, and specialized firms like MetaX and Beijing Yusur.
