Chery Automobile has entered into a strategic partnership with the State Grid Corporation of China to launch the first large-scale V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) operation station. The agreement was signed on October 16 in Wuhu, Anhui, between Chery Green Energy and the Mingsheng Group of State Grid Anhui Electric Power.

V2G technology enables bidirectional energy flow, allowing electric vehicles to function as mobile, dispatchable distributed energy storage units. By charging during off-peak hours and discharging during peak demand, users can potentially generate over ¥3000 in annual revenue based on current electricity price spreads and subsidies.

The system supports both AC and DC V2G charging, catering to different environments. DC V2G is designed for high-power, rapid interaction in public stations and industrial parks, while AC V2G is optimized for residential use, allowing users to charge at home and discharge at work without visiting public stations.

Additionally, the Chery R&D Center launched the Xunlong Second-Charging demonstration station. This facility features 1440kW charging equipment capable of providing a 500km range in 5 minutes, alongside various technologies including supercharging, fast charging, charging robots, rail-mounted chargers, and wireless charging.
