Cerebras CEO Andrew Feldman addressed the growing discourse surrounding AI risks, arguing that the potential benefits of the technology are currently being overshadowed by negative narratives. He suggested that industry leaders should emphasize positive outcomes, such as advancements in medical research, while maintaining a balanced perspective on safety and regulation.

Feldman noted that Cerebras counts companies like OpenAI, Block, Figma, GSK, and Lovable among its customers. He acknowledged that powerful technologies inevitably bring challenges regarding misuse, emphasizing the need for thoughtful development and reasonable regulation rather than focusing solely on existential warnings.

The CEO also addressed the friction between the data center industry and local communities in the United States. He stated that the industry failed to engage with local populations effectively, leading to resistance. In contrast, he highlighted Brazil, Canada, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Mexico, and Sweden as countries actively encouraging data center construction.

Regarding hardware efficiency, Feldman expressed no concern that improvements would diminish demand for his company's chips. He argued that hardware vendors and model developers must work in tandem to increase efficiency, allowing for meaningful progress in the field while competing with industry players like Nvidia.
