Cellbox Solutions, a Cologne-based company specializing in warm-chain logistics for biological materials, has closed its Series A funding round at €5 million. This follows an initial closing of approximately €3.5 million in March 2026. The round included participation from Baltic Business Angels Invest GmbH, as well as existing investors NRW.BANK and Fraunhofer Venture.

The company plans to use the capital to scale its commercial model and expand its technology platform. The strategy involves broadening rental and recurring service offerings, including monitoring, fleet management, and shipment coordination. Cellbox aims to integrate these services with its existing transport capabilities to support logistics workflows in international markets.

Founded in 2017, Cellbox Solutions provides portable CO2 incubator platforms, specifically the Cellbox Go and Cellbox Shipper models. These systems maintain controlled temperature and CO2 levels for the transport of living cells, organoids, and tissues. Currently, over 400 systems are deployed globally for research and clinical applications.

The investment in Cellbox is part of a broader trend in the European life sciences and cell-therapy sectors. In 2026, various companies, including Scinus Group, Cellply, Tozaro, Primogene, QT Sense, and ALP Bio, have secured funding. Collectively, these investments, including grants, total approximately €32 million.
