CATL and DHL Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance the electrification of road freight transport in Europe. The collaboration aims to move past individual pilot programs by establishing a repeatable framework for logistics decarbonization.

The partnership focuses on integrating logistics operations with energy infrastructure. Key areas of development include vehicle electrification, charging systems, energy storage, and battery swapping services, alongside comprehensive lifecycle management for transport fleets.

The companies intend to build an open ecosystem by involving various industry stakeholders. This initiative aligns with the DHL Group objective to reach net-zero emissions in logistics by 2050, as stated by the company representatives.

Akin Li, Executive President of CATL Overseas Business, noted that the project seeks to provide scalable solutions for zero-emission freight. The strategy combines real-world logistics demand with advanced battery and energy storage technologies.
