On September 18, the YouTube channel belonging to Input Output Group broadcast a live stream featuring a deepfake of Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson. The video promoted a cryptocurrency scam under the guise of a community meeting for the Project Catalyst grant program.

The fraudulent stream lasted nearly two hours and included a QR code alongside a post promising viewers life-changing results. Charles Hoskinson addressed the incident via his X account, confirming that the IOG YouTube channel had been compromised.

Hoskinson advised users to avoid clicking any links or trusting content on the channel. The Cardano team is currently coordinating with YouTube to remove the stream and reset the account credentials.
