ByteDance has officially merged its TraeWork and TraeCode services into a single platform branded as TRAE. This unified development environment is designed to handle continuous tasks through a single access point, replacing the previous split between task-oriented and coding-focused tools.
The new platform introduces two primary modes: Agent mode and IDE mode. Agent mode is tailored for project planning and execution, allowing users to break down ideas or manage multiple agents simultaneously. The IDE mode provides a full-featured environment for deep code editing and debugging.
TRAE is accessible across desktop, web, and mobile devices, enabling users to initiate tasks on a computer and monitor progress or provide updates via mobile. The company ensures that all user data, including chat history, account profiles, and commercial points, will be automatically migrated to the new system.
The platform is currently in a gray-scale testing phase. ByteDance plans to roll out the update to all users in batches as the transition progresses.
