ByteDance has secured a $29,6 billion syndicated loan, significantly exceeding its initial target of $20 billion. The deal attracted over $30 billion in orders from nearly 30 banks, with Citigroup and JPMorgan acting as coordinators. This transaction represents the second-largest dollar-denominated loan in Asia for 2026.

The unsecured facility features a three-year term with an option to extend to five years. The interest rate is set at 68 basis points over the SOFR benchmark, which is lower than the 85 basis points margin on the company's 2024 loan of $10,8 billion. Chinese banks provided over 60% of the funding, with the remainder coming from U.S., European, and Singaporean institutions.

While officially designated for general corporate purposes, the capital is primarily intended to support the company's international AI expansion. ByteDance plans to focus on developing data centers and infrastructure throughout Southeast Asia. The company continues to prioritize bank financing over an initial public offering for its large-scale capital requirements.
