BYD is intensifying the marketing campaign for the second-generation Seal 07 sedan. Following the exterior reveal in September, company executives have begun sharing details about the vehicle's interior, which is described as a light-luxury cabin.
The new model features zero-gravity seats equipped with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The interior also includes a Devialet sound system with 20 speakers. The vehicle retains a fastback silhouette and incorporates a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor.
The second-generation Seal 07 measures 5,080 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,960 mm. These dimensions make it 85 mm longer than the current Seal 07 EV, with a wheelbase extended by 60 mm.
According to MIIT filings, the battery electric version will offer motor power outputs of 245 kW and 300 kW, utilizing lithium iron phosphate batteries. The plug-in hybrid version, named Seal 07 DM-i, pairs a 115 kW engine with a 160 kW motor and a 38.029 kWh battery, providing a 245 km electric-only range.
The Seal family, a core component of BYD's Ocean lineup, recorded sales of 46,718 units in September, representing a 9.04 percent year-on-year decline. Cumulative sales for the first nine months of the year reached 304,723 units, down 14.11 percent compared to the same period last year.
