BYD is preparing to unveil its new flagship executive sedan under the Yangwang brand. The vehicle is expected to debut in Dubai, UAE, around November 5. This model aims to compete in the ultra-luxury segment against brands such as Rolls-Royce and Mercedes-Maybach.

The sedan features rear-hinged coach doors and is approximately 5,500 mm in length. It is designed to support megawatt flash charging. Reports suggest the vehicle may be priced in the range of ¥2 million, which is approximately $300,000.

While BYD executive Stella Li previously stated that the company's first vehicle with solid-state batteries would debut in 2027, the new flagship may incorporate this technology earlier. The battery unit FinDreams plans to start production of sulfide-based solid-state batteries in 2027.

Yangwang currently offers the U7 sedan, the U8 and U8L luxury off-road SUVs, and the U9 electric super-coupe. The U8L is currently the most expensive mass-produced vehicle from the brand, with a starting price of ¥1.45 million.
