BYD has introduced the Didi Xia AI agent for its flagship SUV, the Datang, which was previously debuted on the Denza N8L electric vehicle. The system integrates natural language processing to manage vehicle controls, navigation, and lifestyle services.

The AI agent features include an AI space for interactive conversation, customizable personas with adjustable voice and personality settings, and a memory function that stores user preferences via voiceprint authentication. Users can also create custom skill sets to automate in-car environments.

Didi Xia connects to a wide ecosystem of partners, including Alibaba’s Qwen and ByteDance’s Doubao large language models. It also integrates with services like Taobao for food delivery, Fliggy for hotel bookings, Amap for navigation, and various entertainment platforms such as iQIYI, Youku, and Bilibili.

The system supports complex voice commands for vehicle management and trip planning, including multi-stop navigation and charging station routing. Users can also query the AI for information regarding vehicle specifications, status, and operational instructions.
