BYD has reached a significant production milestone, with its 150,000th commercial new energy vehicle (NEV) rolling off the assembly line at the company's plant in Huai’an, Jiangsu province. The vehicle that marked this achievement is the Q3 electric semi truck.
The Q3 model is equipped with a 600 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and a 600 kW dual-motor system, which provides approximately 800 horsepower. The truck is designed to haul a gross combined vehicle weight of 108,000 lbs and offers a range of 325 km on a single charge.
To support efficient operations, the Q3 features dual-gun DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes. The vehicle is part of BYD's broader strategy to expand its commercial vehicle business alongside its passenger car and battery operations.
Sales data shows strong growth for the company's commercial division. In September 2026, BYD sold 6,848 NEV trucks, representing a 113.33% increase year-over-year. Total deliveries for the first nine months of 2026 reached 53,032 units, marking a 28.46% rise compared to the same period in 2025.
