BYD has placed an order for 10 additional pure car and truck carriers, each with a capacity of 9,200 CEU. This expansion will bring the company's total fleet to 18 LNG-powered vessels, capable of transporting over 130,000 vehicles simultaneously.
The company is scaling its logistics capabilities to support international growth, particularly in Europe and North America. Last year, BYD launched its first large-scale carrier, the Shenzhen, which features 9,200 parking spots.
Export performance remains strong, with 184,000 passenger vehicles shipped from China last month, marking a 131% year-over-year increase. By August, total exports reached 1,127,000 vehicles, representing nearly 90% growth compared to the same period in 2025.
In the UK market, BYD registrations surged by 98% through August, reaching over 48,000 vehicles. The brand now holds a 3.48% share of the UK new car market, compared to 1.92% during the same period last year.
