BYD board secretary Li Qian announced that the company will continue to invest in the semiconductor sector, focusing on both design and manufacturing. The company currently offers 567 types of automotive-grade chips across 13 categories, expanding from power and analog chips to logic semiconductors.
The Xuanji A3 chip, China's first automotive-grade 4nm intelligent driving processor, has entered mass production. Launched in May, the chip supports L3 and L4 autonomous driving. When combined with BYD's proprietary algorithms, the system achieves a total computing power exceeding 2100 TOPS with a 100% improvement in utilization efficiency.
BYD established its internal chip team in 2002. Today, the company operates 5 wafer factories and manages the entire production chain, including product definition, architecture, circuit design, manufacturing, packaging, and testing. BYD has released over 2000 chip products for automotive and consumer electronics applications.
