Ukrainian defense technology company Buntar Aerospace has secured $16 million in a new funding round. The investment was led by Freedom Fund and an international growth equity investor, with additional backing from Gardar, Iron Wolf, and Autonomy Capital. This latest injection of capital brings the total funding raised by the firm to $30 million.
The company specializes in the Buntar-3 reconnaissance drone and the Buntar Copilot, an AI-driven system designed for drone warfare. These technologies are currently deployed with front-line units across Ukraine. The startup plans to use the fresh capital to accelerate product development and significantly increase its manufacturing capacity to address the rising demand from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Beyond scaling production, Buntar Aerospace intends to recruit new engineering and management talent. The company also aims to expand its operations into international markets by introducing dual-use product lines. These new offerings will extend beyond traditional intelligence and surveillance systems, targeting the growing civilian sector demand for autonomous technologies.
Co-founder Bohdan Sas stated that the company focuses on missions requiring highly trained operators, such as reconnaissance, counter-drone defense, and precision strike assistance. By evolving into a multi-domain defense autonomy firm, Buntar Aerospace plans to leverage its existing defense-grade designs for broader civil applications in the future.
