BP is expanding its drilling operations in the Kirkuk oil fields as part of a strategic initiative to increase production capacity in Iraq. This activity is governed by a 25-year agreement focused on the redevelopment of several fields located in the northern part of the country.
The current combined output from these fields ranges between 300 000 and 328 000 barrels per day. Under the terms of the redevelopment project, BP aims to raise the production level to an initial target of 450 000 barrels per day.
Industry observers are tracking the progress of these operations, noting that future developments may be influenced by production targets set by OPEC+ and broader geopolitical factors affecting oil flows in the Middle East.
