San Francisco-based startup Bloxtel is integrating its decentralized private 5G network infrastructure with the Avalanche blockchain. The company, founded in 2022, previously utilized a custom permissioned blockchain for its network management tools and Operator dApp.

The company is launching the AP 201, an all-in-one 5G access point manufactured by Askey Computer Corp., a subsidiary of ASUS. The device supports US band 48 and international band 78, with a scheduled release in Q4 2026.

Bloxtel utilizes patented dSIM technology, which replaces physical SIM cards with asymmetric PKI-based authentication. Additionally, the firm developed Open6GC, a platform featuring AI-driven automation and predictive maintenance for core network operations.

The company claims its architecture provides a 70% reduction in security threats, an 80% decrease in latency, a 90% drop in costs, and a tenfold increase in network capacity. Bloxtel joined the OnGo Alliance in September 2024 to support CBRS spectrum usage.

The business model includes a setup fee and recurring monthly charges for small cell deployments. The basic service plan is priced at $499 per month. The founding team includes former executives from AT&T, Deutsche Telekom, and T-Systems.
