BitGo has launched a suite of security tools designed to protect institutional Bitcoin wallets from potential quantum computing threats. The company completed the rollout of these features on July 22, following an initial announcement on July 9.

The new system integrates four security controls into BitGo’s existing multi-signature wallet framework. These tools require no changes to the Bitcoin protocol and do not involve the use of new tokens.

A key component of the update is the Quantum Risk Score, which provides users with real-time data on the exposure of their assets. The platform also includes a guided workflow for moving funds to new addresses and a UTXO selection method to limit public-key exposure during transactions.

According to data from Glassnode, approximately 6 to 7 million BTC currently have exposed public keys on the blockchain, representing nearly 30% of the total supply. BitGo, which has operated in the custody space since 2013, aims to mitigate these risks for institutional clients.
