Bitcoin is currently facing significant resistance near the $85,000 mark. Analysts from Glassnode observed a large sell wall on Binance between $85,000 and $85,500, which tripled in volume after September 24, 2026. While a portion of this wall was cleared around October 2, allowing the price to briefly touch $87,000, the asset remains constrained within the $85,000 to $86,000 range as of October 6.
Data from QCP Capital and CryptoQuant indicates that the $84,000 to $85,000 zone contains the highest concentration of supply from long-term holders. Increased profit-taking from this group throughout late September and early October has exerted downward pressure on the price. Current demand from spot Bitcoin ETFs is described as mixed and modest, failing to fully absorb the supply.
Market experts suggest that a sustained break above $85,000 is necessary to shift the current market structure. An additional resistance cluster exists near $87,000, containing approximately half the volume of the primary sell wall. Future price movement depends on whether the Binance sell wall rebuilds, whether long-term holder selling slows, and whether ETF inflows become more consistent.
