Bitcoin price surpassed $81,000 on Monday, marking a 1.29% increase following a period of market volatility. The asset reached levels near $82,000 after a week characterized by fluctuating inflows into spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds.
Market sentiment was previously impacted by the failure of the CLARITY Act, which aimed to regulate crypto tokens, and a Federal Reserve interest rate hike announced on Wednesday. This rate increase was the first recorded since 2023.
Geopolitical factors also influenced price movements, including a temporary dip during the weekend linked to Houthi strikes on Riyadh. Bitcoin recovered as Asian equity markets rose and oil prices declined amid expectations for diplomatic developments involving Iran.
Investors are now monitoring the upcoming Trump-Xi summit scheduled for Wednesday in Washington. Additionally, the Federal Reserve has indicated the possibility of at least one further interest rate adjustment before the end of the year.
