Centralized cryptocurrency exchanges recorded a net inflow of 11,593 BTC over a three-day period. This movement brought the total combined holdings on these platforms to approximately 3.67 million BTC.

Despite the recent short-term increase, the broader trend remains characterized by outflows. As of October 12, 2026, net outflows over the preceding 30 days reached 28,599 BTC.

Data from Santiment indicates a significant single-day outflow of 24,073 BTC in early October 2026, marking the largest daily exit in seven months. Earlier in September, a separate dataset recorded 33,839 BTC leaving exchanges over a single week.

Analysts note that estimates of total exchange reserves vary significantly depending on the methodology used. Figures range from 2.68 million to 3.67 million BTC, as firms use different approaches to identify and label exchange-controlled wallets.

Coinbase, Binance, and Bitfinex hold the majority of the tracked balances. While the recent inflow suggests increased liquidity on platforms, experts caution that individual wallet data does not clarify whether these coins are intended for sale, collateral, or rebalancing.
