Spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds in the United States experienced a significant outflow of capital on Thursday. According to data from Farside Investors, total redemptions from these funds reached $635.6 million.

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust recorded the largest outflow, with investors withdrawing over $254 million. Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund saw a decline of nearly $218 million. Other funds also reported losses, including the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF with over $109 million, Morgan Stanley’s fund with nearly $30 million, and Bitwise’s ETF with over $27 million.

Despite the single-day drop, the investment vehicles maintained a net positive investment of over $439 million for the week. The market shift followed a rise in oil prices, which triggered a risk-off sentiment among investors and led to a temporary decline in bitcoin’s price below $81,000.

The price of bitcoin has since recovered, trading near $81,669. Analysts note that the cryptocurrency previously reached a record high of $126,080 in October 2025, followed by a major liquidation event involving over $19 billion in closed positions.
