Michael Bucella, co-founder of Neoclassic Capital, identifies a growing trend among investors who view Bitcoin, gold, and the Swiss franc as hedges against currency debasement. This shift in sentiment is largely driven by the US national debt, which has recently surpassed $40 trillion.

The legislative landscape remains uncertain as the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act failed to advance in the Senate this month. Although the bill previously passed the House in 2025, disagreements over enforcement authority have stalled its progress, causing temporary outflows from Bitcoin and Ether ETFs.

Despite legislative delays, market participation remains resilient. Bucella noted that Bitcoin ETF inflows reached approximately $1 billion in a single day following the initial market reaction. Furthermore, the emergence of new onshore lending products allows holders to borrow against their assets without selling.

Bucella emphasizes that while Bitcoin is increasingly treated as a store of value, it remains a risk asset influenced by broader macroeconomic conditions. Investors are currently prioritizing the debasement narrative over specific US policy outcomes, a trend particularly notable among Swiss market participants.
