Chinese AI chip developer Biren Technology reported a significant revenue increase in the first half of 2026, reaching $183.9 million. This figure represents a 1998 percent growth compared to the $8.665 million recorded in the same period of 2025.

The company's gross profit rose to $78.552 million with a margin of 42.7 percent. Despite this, Biren posted a net loss of $56.2 million, attributed to ongoing investments in new hardware, including rack-level solutions with optical interconnects and software development.

Biren's sales momentum began in the second half of 2025 following US export restrictions on Nvidia products. In 2025, the company generated $154.17 million in revenue, though its market share in China remained below 3 percent, with total shipments in the tens of thousands.

The product portfolio includes the BR106, BR110, and BR166 processors, with the BR20X, BR30X, and BR31X series currently in development. Additionally, the company is building the Birensupa software stack to compete with Nvidia CUDA.

Future growth depends on Biren's ability to secure manufacturing capacity at foundries like SMIC. The company faces competition from domestic rivals such as Huawei, Kunlunxin, and Cambricon, while still trailing behind the historical shipment volumes of Nvidia.
