Beagle Labs, a company developing an AI-driven platform for commercial property insurance underwriting, has secured $4.1 million in a pre-seed funding round. The investment was led by Chingona Ventures, with participation from Sovereign’s Capital, Remarkable Ventures, C2 Ventures, South Loop Ventures, and Red Bike Capital.

Founded in 2023, the startup addresses the inefficiencies of traditional physical property inspections, which often take 30 days or more and frequently yield incomplete or inaccurate data. The platform provides underwriters with real-time property and liability insights by combining AI analysis with a nationwide network of over 7,000 verified field inspectors.

The company's technology allows for inspection turnaround times of 14 days or less. The business model is usage-based, where customers pay per building for AI-enhanced inspections. This approach enables underwriters to obtain instant digital property data and dispatch inspectors only when necessary, while every completed inspection contributes to the platform's proprietary dataset.

The platform is currently utilized by various insurance carriers, managing general agents (MGAs), and wholesale brokerages, particularly within the commercial property and excess and surplus lines markets. The U.S. surplus lines market reached a record $143 billion in direct premiums written in 2025, highlighting the demand for accurate risk assessment tools.

Beagle Labs plans to use the new capital to expand its AI agent capabilities, increase the number of carriers and brokerages on the platform, and extend its aerial drone capture services. The company also intends to grow its team in New York and strengthen its customer support operations.
