The company Avicena introduced its LightBundle eKit, described as the world's first connectorized Micro LED optical interconnect product. The device is being showcased at the ECOC 2026 European Conference on Optical Communication.
The architecture combines high-density, laser-free Micro LED transceivers with a detachable inline optical interface. This design allows for independent testing of optical and electrical subsystems, which enhances field maintainability and enables flexible cabling options.
The eKit is based on the company's previously delivered 1Tbps Micro LED optical interconnect evaluation kits. The system integrates up to 335 independent Micro LED data channels, with each channel operating at a speed of 3Gbps to facilitate parallel data transmission.
