Asus has launched the ROG ZOOM Cat 8 10 Gigabit Gaming Network Cable, specifically designed to complement the ROG Octopus 8 router. The cable supports data transmission speeds reaching up to 40 Gbps, which the company claims is four times faster than standard Cat 7 cables.
The product is currently available in the Chinese market in two lengths. The 1.5-meter version is priced at ¥299, approximately $42, while the 3-meter variant costs ¥399, or about $56.
The cable features double E/STP shielding and a dense steel outer braid to enhance durability against abrasion and stretching. The internal structure utilizes oxygen-free copper conductors to minimize signal loss during data transmission.
The design incorporates a cross-arrangement of eight twisted pairs to mitigate signal interference. Additionally, the RJ-45 connectors are equipped with copper housings and gold-plated contacts to improve resistance to electromagnetic interference, wear, and oxidation.
