Asterium, a licensed fintech ecosystem based in Uzbekistan, has integrated Apple Pay for its eligible Visa and Mastercard holders. The service is accessible through the Asterium Wallet, making the company one of the first in the country to offer this payment method.
Users can utilize Apple Pay on iPhone and Apple Watch for contactless transactions at merchants, as well as for in-app and web purchases. The system authenticates transactions via Face ID, Touch ID, or a device passcode, ensuring that actual card numbers are not shared with merchants.
While Asterium provides services for crypto-asset operations, Apple Pay does not process crypto assets directly. Transactions funded by crypto balances undergo automatic conversion into fiat currency by Asterium before settlement. All ecosystem products require mandatory KYC and AML procedures.
