The Assnetes distribution, also known as 1Zh:Orchestrator 8, allows users to manage Kubernetes clusters using the 1C programming language. The project enables developers to write manifests and operators in Russian, while the command-line interface uses terminology familiar to accounting professionals.

The system uses a custom interpreter for the 1C language, built in Go, which supports structures, tables, and precise decimal arithmetic. The tool 1csctl serves as the local interface for interacting with the cluster, translating commands and objects into standard Kubernetes formats.

While Kubernetes allows Cyrillic in custom resource fields, standard object names and API groups must remain in Latin script. The project uses punycode for API groups and transliteration for object names, storing original Russian labels in annotations to ensure data consistency.

The developer implemented webhooks to handle field validation, as standard CEL expressions do not support Cyrillic keys. Additionally, the system includes a translator that maps 1C-style terminology, such as 'Deployment' to 'Razvertyvanie', back to standard Kubernetes objects.

The source code for Assnetes is available on GitHub under the Apache 2.0 license. The prototype was developed on a Cozystack cluster hosted on Hetzner servers during a single weekend.
