Armenia has become a key location for American AI infrastructure, hosting two data centers equipped with NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs. The projects are supported by a 2025 US-Armenia memorandum on semiconductors and AI, which facilitated the export of advanced hardware.

The primary project is led by Firebird AI, which launched a facility in Hrazdan in August 2026. The site initially deployed 6,144 NVIDIA B200 GPUs with 15 MW of power. The company plans to scale to over 70,000 chips and 300 MW of capacity by the end of 2027.

Firebird AI increased its investment commitment from $500 million in 2025 to $4 billion in February 2026. The company reserves 20% of its computational resources for local Armenian institutions, while 80% is allocated to international clients.

A second facility, operated by Eleveight AI, opened in Gagarin in June 2026 with 512 NVIDIA Blackwell B300 GPUs. The company aims to expand this site to a total capacity of 40 MW, leveraging local hydropower and engineering expertise.

The rapid expansion faces logistical challenges, including significant water consumption for cooling and the need to scale infrastructure within an 18-month timeframe. The initiative is also part of a broader diplomatic framework involving the US and Azerbaijan.
