The European Space Agency has officially confirmed that the Ariane 6 launch schedule faces delays due to a technical anomaly. Reports indicate that the issue involves an engine turbopump, which was identified during ground testing in August. This development is expected to impact the mission cadence for the remainder of 2026.

Initial projections suggested that Arianespace could conduct three or four additional launches this year. However, current estimates suggest that the number of missions may be reduced to one or two. Officials are currently determining whether the faulty component can be repaired directly at the launch site in French Guiana or if a full replacement is required.

The Ariane 6 rocket utilizes four turbopumps across its Vulcain 2.1 main-stage and Vinci upper-stage engines. Currently, Avio manufactures the liquid oxygen turbopumps, while ArianeGroup produces the hydrogen versions. Although member states agreed in December 2024 to shift oxygen turbopump production to ArianeGroup, the transition is not yet complete.
