Aptos Foundation and Aptos Labs have pledged over $50 million to develop institutional-grade onchain markets and AI-driven trading systems. This capital is allocated to four key areas: internal product development, research, protocol infrastructure, and a partner fund.

The initiative includes the launch of Decibel, an onchain order book exchange for spot and perpetual trading, which has already exceeded $1 billion in cumulative volume. The platform utilizes a burn mechanism for the native APT token, linking exchange activity to supply reduction.

Aptos is also developing Shelby, a decentralized hot storage protocol for AI agents. Planned infrastructure upgrades include encrypted mempools to prevent front-running, as well as FIX and CCXT connectivity to facilitate integration for traditional financial institutions.

The network currently reports a stablecoin market capitalization of $1.93 billion, marking a nearly 10-fold increase since late 2024. Additionally, real-world assets on the platform have reached $1.2 billion, with participation from firms such as BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, and Apollo Global.
